The use of mobile payments is growing fast, with mobile wallets becoming a standard feature on smartphones and an increasingly common point-of-sale option for merchants. eMarketer predicts that the number of people in the US using their phones to pay will increase 210% in 2016, with the average spend increasing from $721 in 2016 to $3017 in 2019.
Localeze supports mobile payments, enabling listing managers to identify listings that accept mobile payments. This information is then provided to our distribution partners through our RESTful API so that they can communicate its availability to their end users. Specifically, listing managers can:
- Add mobile payment types for Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay™, and Android Pay™
- Distribute this information to the Localeze distribution network of mapping applications, local search directories, navigation devices, mobile apps, and more.
- Help businesses that accept mobile payments reach more customers
Please contact our support team with any questions you have about our new mobile payments functionality.
Used by Millennials and Higher-Income Households
eMarketer analyst Bryan Yeager notes, “Also, more merchants will adopt point-of-sale systems that can accept mobile payments, and incentives like promotions and loyalty programs will be integrated to attract new users.” An October 2015 Accenture survey found millennials and higher-income households are leading the pack, with 23% and 38% using contactless payments at least once a week, respectively.
